Baby hit by car, thrown from stroller in downtown Houston

HOUSTON – A baby was hit by a car and thrown from a stroller Tuesday in downtown Houston.

Investigators said a couple was walking with the 1-year-old around 1 a.m. along the 1000 block of Pierce near Main Street when the stroller was hit.

The baby was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police said the driver had the green light and right of way.

Investigators said the driver did not appear to be under the influence.
