Argument leads to shooting, carjacking, police chase in Spring Branch, police say

SPRING BRANCH, Texas – An argument led to a shooting, carjacking and police chase Wednesday in Spring Branch, according to investigators.

Police said a man got into a fight with two other men at about 12:30 a.m. at an apartment complex on Gessner Road at Timberwood Drive. One of the men pulled out a gun and started shooting, police said.

“He (the victim) had been shot at least twice,” HPD Lt. Larry Crowson said. “He was then Life Flighted to Memorial Herman in the Medical Center.”

The victim is expected to survive.

Police said the two men stole a witness' car and took off.

They said officers spotted the car shortly afterward, but the driver refused to stop and led them on a chase.

Police said he eventually stopped, but both the driver and the passenger jumped out of the car and ran away.

“Both were taken into custody utilizing K-9 and helicopter. Officers searched the area and located the pistol left on the ground,” Crowson said.

It is unknown what charges the men will face.
