Galveston police officer accused of molesting 13-year-old girl

GALVESTON, Texas – A Galveston police officer was placed on paid leave after allegations that he molested a 13-year-old girl nearly four years ago.

Officer Dion Watson was charged with two counts of indecency with a child including sexual contact.

According to court documents, the victim, who is now 17 years old, reported the alleged abuse last month.

The victim told investigators that Watson first touched her inappropriately in the summer of 2015, according to the documents. The victim also said that Watson later offered her money to take nude photographs, according to the documents.

According to the documents, Watson denied the allegations.

Officials said that Watson has worked with the Galveston Police Department since September 2001.
