A deputy with Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to reports of a crying child in a neighborhood in the 4400 block of Adonis Drive.

Upon arrival, the deputy located where the cries were coming from, knocked on the door of the home and a crying 3-year-old child answered the door, deputies said. Inside the home, the deputy found the 5-year-old child with special needs, deputies said. The deputy found Tirado's cellphone number and called him about his whereabouts and Tirado told the deputy he was on his way back to the home, deputies said.

It was later discovered the children were left at home for an hour, investigators said.

Child Protective Services was contacted and the children were released to another family member.

Tirado was arrested and is currently being held in Harris County Jail on a $1,000 bond.
