Walmart recalls camping ax after reports of injuries
HOUSTON – Walmart issued a recall of a camping ax through the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission on Wednesday.
The organization said the head of the Ozark Trail camp, Model No. 60111140, can detach from the handle and cause injury.
Anyone who has purchased the ax can take it back to the store for a refund.
The product was sold by Walmart in stores and online from Jan. 2017 through July 2018 for roughly $8, according to the commission.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission said Walmart received two reports of axe heads detaching from the handle, resulting in minor cuts and abrasions.
Editor's note: A previous story erroneously called this a toy ax.
