1 in custody after stolen HFD emergency vehicle crash

HOUSTON – One person is in custody after a crash involving a stolen emergency vehicle.

The incident happened Wednesday afternoon on the south side of Houston.

According to the Houston Fire Department, an EMS crew was attending to a seizure patient in an apartment in the 6600 block of Weston. While the crew was inside the apartment, the ambulance was stolen.

Houston police said the ambulance crashed into a ditch in the 6700 block of Goforth.

Sky 2 aerials showed the front end of the ambulance was damaged.
