Elementary students jump into action to help teachers, staff affected by Harvey

Students hold car wash to raise money for their own

HOUSTON – The parents organization at River Oaks Elementary School helped students there get involved by creating a car wash to raise money for some of their own who were affected by Harvey.

The car wash, which has run for two days, has raised money for their teachers and administration.

The school said one woman in particular, a cafeteria worker, is in need of $2,000 to replace her car, which she needs to get to her second job after she finishes her work at the school.

The cafeteria worker is one of the children's favorite people at the school and they said that they didn't want to go back to school without her.
