Woman claims man was taking candid photos of her family at Katy-area store

KATY, Texas – A Katy-area woman wants mothers to be watchful of their surroundings after she said a man took pictures of her, her daughter and mother in a parking lot before following them.

"The moment I saw him, alarm bells went off. It just didn't feel right," said Angelina Allen.

Allen says she, her mother and 3-year-old daughter parked at a Toys R Us on Thursday, near the Katy Mills Mall.

A car in the parking lot caught Allen's mother's attention.

"I get my daughter out of the car and my mom goes, 'Wow, that's such a nice car,' and as I turned around, because she said that, I realized his phone is up," Allen said, suggesting the man was taking a picture. "When I asked him (if) he (was) taking pictures, he kind of smiled."

At that point, Allen said, the man followed them. She called 911 and filed a report with Katy Police. She also posted about it on Facebook.

That's when a friend told her about another incident, involving a man allegedly looking up a woman's dress in the parking lot of a Walmart on North Fry Road on Wednesday.

"I saw the [video], I was, like, oh my God, that looks like him because of the nose," she said.

Allen hopes sharing her story will encourage other women to do the same.

"In every single situation, there's a man present and that's just not right. How is it that as a woman I can't feel safe?" she said.
