Police release video of violent Sugar Land robbery

Two men pistol-whip the clerk

SUGAR LAND – Sugar Land police are looking for two men in connection with a violent robbery at a gas station.

The crime was reported on Thursday at a Shell station at 1484 Highway 6.

The pair entered the store just after 1 a.m. They first walked to the restroom, then approached the clerk at the counter.

Police said the thieves pulled out guns and pistol-whipped the clerk, then demanded cash from the register and the safe.

The clerk said the men yelled at him during the beating, asking him if he wanted to die. The pair threw the clerk to the floor and kicked him, police said.

The clerk was taken to a hospital with head injuries.

Police have released surveillance video of the crime in hopes that someone will recognize the thieves.

The men wore black jackets with hoods, black pants, black shoes and black/gray baseball hats. One of the hats had a U.S. flag on the left side.
