Plane forced to land, passengers evacuated at IAH after smoke observed in cabin

HOUSTON – A plane was forced to land and all passengers exited the plane at Bush Intercontinental Airport on Tuesday.

The plane had just taken off when smoke was observed in the cabin. The plane immediately landed and all passengers were evacuated on the runway.

United Express issued the following statement regarding ExpressJet flight 3883:

“ExpressJet flight 3883 from Houston to Fort Walton, Fla., operating as United Express, returned to Houston due to a mechanical issue. The aircraft landed safely and all passengers are being reaccommodated on a different aircraft.”
