Forbes reports the suit claims the pop diva lifted from Mya’s "Booking the Hoes from New Wildings" and “A 27 Piece Huh,” using both the rapper’s voice and lyrics. Barre’s estate said in the suit that it has "received nothing … no acknowledgment, no credit no remuneration of any kind" and asserts that they attempted to reach out to Beyoncé and never heard back.

Barre, who lived in New Orleans, was murdered in 2010.

The suit is seeking royalties on “Formation,” as well as name Mya as a writer composer, producer and performer.
