A truck hit and killed a pedestrian who attempted to cross the Eastex Freeway, police said
The driver of a white Ford E-250 van was traveling south near the 7800 block of the Eastex Freeway around 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the truck struck a man who was attempting to cross the roadway.
The man died upon impact and was not within the crosswalk while he was trying to cross the road, according to officials.
The driver said he did not see the victim and remained at the scene for questions.
Police said the driver of the truck did not show any signs of intoxication.
