HOUSTON – A woman died Thursday after she was pinned against her Harris County home while her son was backing a car into her driveway.
The accident was reported about 6:15 p.m. in the 2600 block of Daryns Landing Drive.
According to Harris County deputies, the woman's son accidentally pressed the gas pedal while backing up the car. The car sideswiped another car that was parked in the driveway and then hit his mother, Tinh Nguyen, who was standing near her front door, pinning her against the house.
Deputies said the vehicle traveled across the yard and stopped when it hit a neighboring house.
Nguyen died at a hospital.
The son showed no signs of impairment, deputies said.
