Masked person robs woman of necklace in Fort Bend County

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office deputies are asking for the public's help in identifying a person who stole a woman's necklace in Fort Bend County.

A woman said she was crouched near the front door of her house in the 10900 block of Tay Grove Place in the Richmond area at 9:40 p.m. Nov. 2 when a person approached her, grabbed her and ripped a necklace off her neck. The person shoved the victim against the brick wall of the home and left the scene, police said.

The person was wearing a disguise, so it is hard to tell from the surveillance video if it was a man or a woman. The accused robber is described as being tall and heavyset. He or she was wearing a full mask, a white tank top and black skinny jeans.

The accused robber left the subdivision in a dark-colored SUV on Ardkinglas Drive.

“It is a shame that a resident can’t be standing on her own front porch without worrying about a thug coming up and assaulting her and stealing her belongings,” said Sheriff Troy E. Nehls. “If you have any information about this crime, don’t hesitate to call the Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers TIPS line.”

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers Inc.
