Gun-shaped phone cases prompt alerts for Houston police

HOUSTON – The Houston police union sent out an email Thursday morning, advising officers about a cell phone case that resembles a handgun.

According to authorities, police noticed a gun-shaped phone case during a car accident Tuesday. The odd case was noticed after the driver held the phone to their ear  and looked as if they were going to shoot themselves in the head, police said.

An email was sent out to Houston police, advising them to be aware of these new cell phone cases while they’re on the street and making contact with the public.

Police were told that the cases could be purchased on Amazon.
