Man, 19, found shot to death inside car in northeast Houston

Revenge might have been motive, police say

HOUSTON – Police are looking for the person who shot and killed a man Sunday evening in northeast Houston.

The shooting was reported about 6:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of Bennington Street, near the intersection of Lockwood Drive.

According to Houston police, officers found the body of 19-year-old Foronado Murphy inside a car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said Murphy was driving along Bennington Street when a man, police said he knew, pulled up beside him. The two began arguing, and at some point the man shot and killed Murphy, police said.

Investigators believe the shooting might have been motivated by revenge.

The suspected shooter, who has not been identified, was questioned and released pending further investigation, police said.

No charges have been filed. The investigation is continuing.
