Heidi Cruz campaigns for husband Ted Cruz in Houston

HOUSTON – Heidi Cruz, the wife of Sen. Ted Cruz, spent the day campaigning for her husband all over the Houston area.

Shaking hands and meeting with voters, she addressed a small crowd in Rosenberg at the Fort Bend County Republican Party headquarters.  Before she took the stage, she spoke to KPRC 2.

"It's great to be home. As you know, Ted and I live in this area. We've been traveling this country the last year and it's nice to be amongst fellow Texans," Heidi Cruz said.

Ted Cruz is expected to do well with Texas voters in the primary, but they aren't taking anything for granted, hitting the campaign trail hard ahead of Tuesday.

"I can tell you, having known Ted for 16 years and having been married to him for 14 and a half, this is a man that is ready to be commander in chief on day one," Heidi Cruz said.
