Man chases woman, attacks with pipe in Spring

SPRING, Texas – It was a terrifying ride home for a Spring woman and her 6-year-old grandson.  She was targeted, followed and then attacked by a man with a pipe.

“I did get scared,” said Rachel Longoria.  “Not so much for my safety but I had my 6-year-old grandson in the car with me.”

Longoria was driving on I-45 in Spring, she said the man kept following her, pulling up next to her and trying to get her to roll her window down.

At one point they were stuck in traffic and the man got out of his car and approached her, he had a pipe in his hand.

“He told me to get out of my car,” Longoria said. “I was not going to get out of my car. I would not roll my window down, he kept looking in my windows.”

Longoria said he kept asking her if she was OK and told her she was not safe, almost as if he was trying to convince her that he was there to help.

She called 911 and pulled into the Walmart parking lot off I-45 and Louetta Crossing Drive that’s when she said the man approached her with the long metal pipe again.

When Longoria wouldn’t roll down her window or get out of the car, the suspect used the pipe to shatter and bust out her back window.

That’s when constable deputies with Precinct 4 arrived on scene and arrested the man.

Shaun Gentilo has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

“He’s in the Harris County jail on a no-bond,” said Constable Mark Herman with Precinct 4.  “The streets of Harris County are much safer.”

Court records indicate Gentilo was out on bail when this incident happened.

On Nov. 11, he was arrested and charged with making a terroristic threat after allegedly threatening to murder someone.

“I’m just traumatized over it,” said Longoria.  I just want to go back to a normal life.  I didn’t even want to get on the road today.  I did but I was terrified.”

Longoria and her grandson were not injured in the incident.

She said her grandson was asleep in the backseat and slept through the whole ordeal.
