1 person injured in northeast Houston house fire; arson suspected

A person of interest is in custody in connection with a house fire that left one person injured Saturday night.

Houston firefighters responded to the fire around 11 p.m. in the 6700 block of Leedale Street.

Firefighters said there was very heavy smoke and someone appeared to be trapped inside the house.

Firefighters found one man after searching the home. He was transported to a hospital and is in critical condition.

Arson investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.

Authorities have not released information about the person in custody or victim.
