Sundance Head's father stable after surgery

HOUSTON – The father of Sundance Head is in stable condition Friday after surgery to repair a ruptured blood vessel.

Head, who was the most recent winner of “The Voice,” posted on his Facebook page late Thursday that his father, Roy, was in the emergency room after suffering a ruptured aorta.

The aorta is the largest artery in the body. A rupture can cause internal bleeding and lead to serious medical problems.

A later post said that his father was undergoing surgery.

A post Friday morning said that Roy Head was in stable condition and that his blood pressure was normal.

Sundance Head said he will post more updates as soon as he knows more.
