HOUSTON – A cold front will move through Houston Monday morning, bringing showers and thunderstorms to the area during the morning commute. Cooler, more fall-like temperatures will follow.
The storms could deliver strong wind gusts and heavy downpours as they pass through. While flooding is not a major threat, ponding on some area roads will cause hazardous driving through midmorning.
The storms will impact the Houston area through 9 a.m. and should be offshore by 11 a.m.
Weather for Monday afternoon will be much cooler than our hot and humid weekend weather. Look for temperatures to settle into the 70s this afternoon with low humidity. It will be a definite return to fall weather.
Fine fall weather will continue through midweek. A late-week cold front will reinforce the fall weather as we head into the weekend. Temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will be some of the coolest of the season so far.
