Monday's forecast: Isolated afternoon thunderstorms

HOUSTON – There is a slight chance of rain and isolated afternoon thunderstorms on Monday.

Most of the action will take place on the east side of the forecast area. To the northwest, drier air is slipping in so there is little or no chance of rain on Monday.

What will impact everyone, though, is our high humidity.

Houston's high temperature is expected to reach 88 degrees, while Galveston should get to 86 degrees.

In the evening, there could be a stray shower, but otherwise it will be partly cloudy.

On Tuesday, there is a slight chance of rain and isolated thunderstorms. Highs will continue to be in the upper 80s.

By Wednesday and Thursday, there is a 20 percent chance of isolated thunderstorms. Highs will be right around 90 degrees.

Looking toward the weekend, there is a cold front, or rather a cool front, arriving sometime Friday night or Saturday morning. While this front is still a bit away, we could see some cooler weather and less humid conditions Saturday and Sunday.
