Cabin destroyed as wildfires scorch Saskatchewan

A resident of northern Saskatchewan found their vacation cabin reduced to ash on Sunday, May 14, after being destroyed by one of dozens of active wildfires burning across the province. Miehelle Dupuis told Storyful her cabin was located next to MacBeth Channel, close to the town of Buffalo Narrows. “This is what’s left. We built it with our own hands and now we have nothing,” Dupuis told Storyful. “Everything is gone, a lot of people have left” she added. The fire near Buffalo Narrows was still active on Wednesday, May 17, according to Environment Canada. Dozens of wildfires were also burning in Alberta and British Columbia, officials said.
