Robot designed to kill coronavirus to be used before Spurs-Rockets game in San Antonio
HOUSTON โ Before entering the AT&T Center for their game Thursday night with the San Antonio Spurs, the Houston Rockets will be germ-zapped by a coronavirus-killing UV ray robot. The team is using the โXenex LightStrike Robot.โIt uses powerful ultraviolet light to kill the virus and any other pathogen that can live on surfaces, according to Xenex. Two Xenex robots are zapping areas where the players are, public areas and the front offices. San Antonioโs team is first and only professional basketball team to debut and deploy the Xenex LightStrike. According to a release, more than 750 hospitals are utilizing LightStrike, including, Mayo Clinic facilities, Houstonโs MD Anderson Cancer Center, Veteransโ Affairs hospitals and U.S. military healthcare facilities from coast-to-coast.
