Pepperoni shortage impacts pie prices
(KBJR/NBC NEWS) – The latest shortage to hit during the pandemic could impact your favorite pizza. Many meat production facilities have cut back staff to help with social distancing and costs and that’s impact pepperoni production. The shortage is causing pizza shops like Vitta Pizza in Duluth, Minnesota to look elsewhere for the product. “We normally order it through the same vendor every time. And we can’t get it through that vendor so we’ve been having to do substitute pepperoni through different vendors,” says assistant manager Emily Rae.

A family thought they were just baking a pizza. Then they found a snake inside their oven
WAKE FOREST, N.C. – A family in North Carolina thought they were just making themselves some dinner, but there was something else in the oven with the frozen pizza. Amber Helm's husband Robert went to preheat their oven Monday night for what she said she thought would be an easy dinner. "The oven started smoking and I told my boys 'back up' so I can make sure a fire or anything didn't happen," Amber Helm told WRAL. The family doesn't store anything in the oven when it's not being used so they never thought to check inside before preheating, according to Helm. "I was queasy and it was creepy," Robert Helm told WRAL.
