Good Samaritan killed while trying to help driver who crashed into tree in Katy, police say
KATY, Texas – Broken and twisted metal are the aftermath of a deadly accident in Katy Friday. The driver of the truck is Cruz Garcia. Garcia said around 6 a.m., he was driving his truck on the Katy Freeway near Fry Road, and two trucks were racing. The driver that killed the good Samaritan stayed at the scene and is speaking with police. However, the driver that clipped Garcia did not stop.
Illinois woman to be reunited with special bracelet lost in Hobby Airport
HOUSTON – An Illinois woman is thankful after a bracelet containing her late mother’s ashes was found in Hobby Airport. “I lost my mom on Christmas Eve so I had not had the bracelet very long.”After she lost the bracelet, Fisher and her family had flooded social media in the hopes someone would find the bracelet. Coincidentally, Arizona happens to be Evelyn’s special place, where she asked that her ashes be spread. “We’re going to all go together and spread ashes in Sedona,” said Fisher. She says she’s thankful the lost bracelet wound up in the hands of someone, who would recognize that it was important to someone else.

2 dead after an officer-involved shooting at Deerbrook Mall in Humble
HOUSTON – Two people were killed after a domestic dispute between a man and his girlfriend at Deerbrook Mall, according to Humble Police Department. A man and woman were arguing when the man pulled out a weapon on the woman in the parking lot of the Sears, police said. "He started running from the officer, a Good Samaritan saw the officer chasing him and attempted to help and tackle the suspect," said Humble Police Lieutenant Eric Squier. Police said the suspect shot the Good Samaritan during the scuffle. Both the suspect and the Good Samaritan were rushed to the hospital but died from their injuries.

HOUSTON - A Good Samaritan was seriously hurt after trying to help someone who had gotten into a crash. It happened just after 5 a.m. Sunday after a truck traveling on South Main northbound at the South Loop when the driver hit a median and the vehicle struck two trees. A witness told KPRC 2 the Good Samaritan was trying to get the driver out of the vehicle when a black sedan crashed into the truck, forcing the truck on top of the Good Samaritan. "The only thing that was out from under the car was his head," the witness told KPRC 2. The man who was trying to help was pinned when he was hit by another driver.

Abby Alhlou of Abby's Jewelry says that it is common to see fake jewelry in this line of work, but this year it's worse than it's ever been. One day last week she had eight people come into her store attempting to sell fake jewelry. In that time, she's never seen this many people coming to her with the same type of fake jewelry. The store manager says there are a few tips you can look for if something like this happens to you. Sometimes the coloring is off, especially on the rings," Noor Alhlou, the store manager, said.
