This Spring the VYPE Media team visited the campus of Baytown Lee for our annual Spring Media Day! We had the pleasure of sitting down with the talented athletes and coaches at Lee. Enjoy these player photos and interview with Baytown Lee Softball Coach Denise Atmar!

For the first time in VYPE Media history a LIVE pregame show was hosted at Goose Creek CISD's Stallworth Stadium on Friday night prior to the Baytown Lee vs Baytown Sterling rivalry game. VYPE Countdown to Kickoff powered by Whataburger was an hour and a half long pregame show which included multiple guests including GCCISD Superintendent Randal O'Brien, GCCISD Deputy Superintendent of Administrative Services Dr. Demetrius McCall, GCCISD Athletic Director Lee Martinez, both head coaches, legendary Baytown Lee coach Dick Olin, former Baytown coach Tim Lumpkin, former Lee QB Clint Stoerner and celebrity guest RaeLynn. The show was hosted by Joshua Koch with co-hosts Matt Malatesta and David Francis. Baytown Lee is heading to the playoffs for the first time since 2009. VYPE Media's Joshua Koch sat down with Baytown Lee Tim Finn last week prior to the Thanksgiving break to talk about Baytown Lee's big win over Beaumont United, sealing their ticket to the playoffs and the Ganders getting ready for the big Battle of Baytown against Sterling this week. ON A WALL INSIDE THE BAYTOWN LEE FIELDHOUSE ARE PAINTED THE PROGRAM'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS – YEARS THE GANDERS MADE THE POSTSEASON AND WON PLAYOFF GAMES. The last playoff appearance for Baytown Lee came in 2009 and for their last postseason win, you have to flip in the record books all the way back to 2002. Baytown Lee has a rich football tradition – including making back-to-back state title games in 1951 and 1952, falling to Lubbock both years. Baytown Lee will also have to stave off district-mates Goose Creek Memorial and Baytown Sterling for one of those coveted playoff slots. "I feel like with the depth and the seniors, we can overcome a couple of things," Finn said.

The second annual VYPE Goose Creek CISD Fall Magazine has arrived and it is amazing! This 40-page magazine feature's GCCISD football, volleyball, cross country and team tennis programs! There is also an alumni spotlight on Baytown Lee graduate and now radio host for Sportsradio 610 here in Houston Clint Stoerner. On top of that, all the GCCISD schools are now in the same district so it is time to Battle for Baytown, which is this edition's cover story. Baytown Lee used an explosive passing game to fly past Goose Creek Memorial 28-14 in an all-important District 9-5A DI contest. QB Christian Olige threw for four scores, three going to Adrian Boston. Olige is just under the 1,000-yard plateau for passing yards in just five games. Lee currently holds the fourth playoff spot behind Port Arthur Memorial, United and La Porte. GC-M is off next week before playing Sterling.
