News 6’s Emmy Award winning Investigative Reporter Mike Holfeld has made Central Florida history with major investigations that have led to new policies, legislative proposals and even -- state and national laws.

Holfeld’s investigations have been featured coast to coast . Mike has appeared on Dr. Phil, Inside Edition , MSNBC’s Donny Deutch Show , CNN ,CBS and is a regular contributor for Seminole Magazine and Real Radio 104.1.
Holfeld is most proud of his investigation into the mob controlled moving industry. He exposed a connection from New York to Miami involving an Israeli crime syndicate.

His reports were presented to state lawmakers and not only led to new Florida legislation but recognition by the U.S transportation committee on Capitol Hill. His work also prompted a two part series on CBS "Eye on America".
Holfeld has teamed up with Congressman John Mica, former Congressman Ric Keller, former State Representative Randy Johnson, State Representative Sandy Adams and Orange County Commissioner Linda Stewart to examine issues and develop laws that help families in Florida and across the country.

Mike's investigations have led to new proposals in the auto insurance industry and video retail sales industry as well.
During the economic downturn post 9-11, Holfeld's stories convinced then Gov. Jeb Bush to allow tax extensions for hotel-motel owners.

His reports on parents losing a pregnancy to miscarriage led to the passage of the Grieving Parents Law. Now, Florida parents have the right to hold a memorial service no matter when the miscarriage occurs.
His work has earned a long list of honors. Mike has earned eight Emmy nominations, winning two along with the 2008 Murrow Award . He has been recognized for excellence in journalism by the Associated Press, The Society of Professional Journalists and he earned The Sunshine State Award for journalism excellence.

Holfeld joined the News 6 News team in 1999 and previously worked 15 years as a reporter/anchor in Detroit.
