Minor leaguer hits grand slam, breaks his own windshield

'Definitely worth it,' outfielder tweets of damage

(CNN) – Minor league baseball player Brandon Thomas was living the dream.

The Gateway Grizzlies outfielder hit a grand slam during the second inning of a home game Sunday night in Sauget, Illinois.

We all know what that sounds like: the crack of the bat, the roar of the crowd as the ball streaks out of the stadium, the wail of an alarm as the ball hits a car in the parking lot.

It was only after the game that Thomas realized he'd smashed the windshield of his own pickup truck, but he was totally OK with it.

"Definitely worth it," he tweeted.

Thomas later shared a Twitter video of his grand slam and the photo of his windshield with the caption:

"The before and after from last night. lol Still can't believe this really happened."

No word on if Thomas is going to wait until after the season's over to get the windshield fixed. Baseball players are a superstitious bunch, after all.
