Astros Recall Gattis, Will Option Tucker to Fresno

Gattis set to rejoin Astros, will replace Kratz

HOUSTON – After the Astros dropped their third of four games in their series with the Red Sox on Sunday, the team announced several roster moves.

Evan Gattis will be recalled from the team's double A affiliate, the Corpus Christi Hooks to replace catcher Erik Kratz on the roster.

Gattis was sent to the Hooks ten days ago to get some time behind the plate and caught four games while he was there. In 11 games with the Hooks, Gattis hit five home runs and batted .375.

Kratz had just just 2 hits on the season, despite being on the team since opening day.

Houston will also option Preston Tucker to triple A Fresno and make a corresponding move prior to the Astros next game on Tuesday when they play at the White Sox in Chicago. Tucker was hitting just .176 in 85 at-bats with three home runs.
