Wildfires burn in north Texas

Around 20 homes are at risk to catch fire

PALO PINTO COUNTY, Texas – Governor Rick Perry ordered two helicopters to help in the firefight from air in response to recent Texas wildfires.

Two fires burning in Palo Pinto County have already burned 33,000 acres.

On Monday, there were 14 local and volunteer fire departments battling the blazes. Crews have kept a third fire from spreading in the Possum Kingdom Lake area.

Around 20 homes are threatened. Firefighters said so far, crews have managed to keep the fire far enough way to protect the homes.
