HOUSTON – A car crashed into a northeast Harris County home, pinning a woman underneath the vehicle.

Investigators said around 12 a.m. Wednesday, a red car was speeding in the southbound lanes of Airline near Gulf Bank Road.

For an unknown reason, officials said the man driving lost control of his vehicle and went off the road.

He crashed into a wood telephone pole, hit a pickup truck in a parking lot and then went airborne into a mobile home, authorities said.

The vehicle landed inside a bedroom and on a woman sleeping in her bed.

"He struck a light pole. The vehicle rotated inside of a trailer house on top of a female who asleep inside of her bedroom. She was trapped underneath the vehicle," said Deputy D. Wilkie with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

According to investigators, the man was not hurt and tried to flee the scene on foot. A witness chased him down, tackled him, and held him until deputies arrived.

"He did try to flee the scene. A witness chased him down and brought him back to the scene," Wilkie said.

Deputies said they took the man into custody and would test for alcohol.
