HOUSTON – Three people were hospitalized Tuesday after four vehicles were involved in a crash in northwest Harris County.
The accident happened at Greenhouse Road and FM 529 around 11:15 p.m. Monday when a pickup truck driver heading eastbound on FM 529 ran through a red light at Greenhouse, officials said.
According to investigators, that split-second decision caused a chain reaction that sent several people to the emergency room. The driver of the truck crashed into two cars headed northbound on Greenhouse, and then slammed into a car stopped at the intersection.
When emergency crews arrived on the scene, they rescued three people who were trapped inside of their cars. Crews rushed those victims to a hospital in stable condition.
Police said they tested the driver to see if he was intoxicated at the time of the crash. The driver was also issued a citation. The toxicology results are not yet known.
