Teen charged in December crash that killed two Katy ISD students

KATY, Texas – A teenager is facing two charges of manslaughter in a December crash that killed two Katy ISD students.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said Aaron Jamison has been indicted in the case. Jamison, 18, is a student at Seven Lakes High School in Katy.

One of the victims, 17-year-old Trent Weber, was also a student at Seven Lakes High. He and Terra Kubala, a 16-year-old sophomore at Cinco Ranch High School, died on Dec. 6, 2014 after the Toyota Tundra they were in rolled three times along Luna Vista Lane in Fort Bend County.

Deputies said Jamison was driving the truck, shuttling multiple teens from a bonfire party in an open field back to their vehicles.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said Weber and Kubala, who were riding with between six and eight other teens, were thrown from the bed of Jamison's truck.

"Manslaughter is basically when you're taking reckless actions that cause the death of another person and that's what we believe happened is driving that night was reckless and that's what caused the vehicle to flip over," said Justin White, with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said witnesses claim alcohol and marijuana were visible at the bonfire.

Jamison was arrested Friday. He is free on a $10,000 bond. Deputies said he will be subjected to random drug testing as a condition of his bond.
