Perfect stranger shells out hundreds so father, son could attend Game 5 of World Series

HOUSTON – It was arguably one of the best World Series games ever.

And while watching the game on TV was one thing, being there to see it in person -- an entirely different experience.

"The game was amazing last night, it was unbelievable," said Nick Purcell, who went to World Series Game 5.

"It was pretty, pretty incredible," said Nick's dad, Keith Purcell.

The two were hoping to go Sunday's night's game, but with tickets a bit too pricey, they settled for the next best thing -- watching it at a bar across the street from Minute Maid Park.

"You know we have a beer and a burger and we're having a great time. Kind of realizing this is going to be awesome," Nick said.

That's where they met a man who needed a place to set his drink, before striking up a conversation.

Nick talked about how big of an Astros fan he and his dad are, the other man reminiscing of how he and his own dad, who passed away five years ago, would always go to the games.

Then, out of left field, something special happened.

"He said, well what if I bought your dad's ticket would you buy a ticket? And I said well of course I would," Nick said.

Less than two hours later, Nick and his dad were inside the park taking in a World Series game of a lifetime.

"We stood most of the time, it was incredible," Keith explained.

Something they say wasn't only truly amazing, but also something they'll always remember, especially when it was a total stranger who picked up the tab for a ticket to go.

"It was really heartwarming that he did that. I couldn't believe it," Keith said.

"It was just the most memorable experience I think I've ever had with my dad," Nick said.
