HOUSTON – A man and an elderly woman and her son-in-law are safe after escaping their burning home in north Houston.
Firefighters arrived at the home on Sandydale Lane near Plum Meadow Lane to find flames and smoke coming from the roof of the home, according to fire officials.

Crews said the fire burned through the roof and the home suffered extensive water and smoke damage, according to fire officials.
Firefighters said the man and elderly woman were not injured.
No firefighters were hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
