Man charged with murder after woman shot multiple times in head, left in northwest Houston street

HOUSTON – A mother was shot in the head multiple times after an argument outside a northwest Houston home, police said.

According to investigators, around 11:15 p.m. neighbors said they heard the victim arguing with a man in the 2800 block of Stallings and then heard several gunshots. They then saw a woman lying in the street.

“The lady was laying on the ground and somebody was trying to pump her in her heart so she can resuscitate her, but she couldn’t do nothing so she did it until the laws came," said a neighbor who didn't want to be identified.

Police said they believe the gunman, identified as Marion Charles Goodall, 34, left the scene with another man in a gray Dodge truck.

Family members have identified the victim as Leticia Greer, 38, mother to a 16-year-old son, who saw her lying in the road.

Police have not released a motive for the crime, but neighbors at Greer's apartment complex one mile from the scene said they had seen evidence of a problem.

"We heard the girl was going through some domestic problems with her boyfriend. There were a couple of times when she's been over here, where we've seen or heard somebody screaming or yelling outside," said Toddisha Burrell.

Her family described Greer as caring and loving.

Greer's family was already grieving her premature baby boy who died three weeks ago. His name was Hero.

They said Greer lived in the area and they believed she was headed to a friend's house.

“I heard she was a single mother and then I heard the child over there crying. It's very sad. It’s very, very sad," a neighbor said.

Goodall, who turned himself in Friday, has been charged with murder in death of Greer.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Houston Police Department Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stopper at 713-222-TIPS.
