Man accused of shooting at deputies from speeding truck

A Houston man is facing serious charges after deputies say he fired several shots at deputies from his truck.

On April 23, 2016, officials say Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constables were responding to a minor accident on the 5900 block of FM 2920 when Jayson Mouton drove by in a speeding truck while firing several shots toward the deputies.

The deputies followed the truck to FM 2920 and Holzwarth Road, where Mouton suddenly stopped, then sped away again when the deputies were approaching the truck.

They were able to stop the truck. Before being arrested, officials say Mouton threw a bag on the ground which contained 0.3 grams of cocaine and 0.1 ounces of marijuana. In Mouton’s truck, officers say they found shell casings, a box of bullets, and two gun clips

Mouton is now charged with felony evading arrest in a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and deadly conduct.

Constable Mark Herman says “This is an example of how dangerous it is on our streets for our men and women in law enforcement”. “Everyone is much safer with this suspect off our streets”.
