The Instagram post on @Spiritualword was of a tweet made by X user @rob49up, stating, “Miami NOT spring break no more!!! ITS HOUSTON.”

The blog’s post about Houston received over 1,800 comments and the original tweet received over 32,000 likes, 2.2. million views, and 3,300 reposts.

The conversation follows after it was announced that Miami Beach broke up with spring break in 2024. City leaders will continue to enhanced security measures for practically the entire month of March, including parking restrictions and increased fees for nonresidents, according to the Associated Press.

The new rules were introduced last year after three consecutive years of spring break violence. The city is again warning visitors to expect curfews, bag searches at the beach, early beach closures, DUI checkpoints and arrests for drug possession and violence.

Houstonians were trying to convince others to choose a different destination instead of adding to our already packed city!

Here’s a few of the most liked comments that were made:

  • “Houston has nothing for you! We barely have for us down here. We good. Thank you but NO.”
  • For y’all that keep telling us to stay away….. WE COMING ANYWAY, SAVE YA BREATH.”
  • “I really feel bad for kids. Giving up beach party vibes for hookah and overpriced sections.”
  • “Don’t come to Houston, please.”
  • “No no no. Stop coming here uh uh!!! Nothing to see here!”
  • “Do they know Houston close at 2?”
  • “Please dnt come to Houston. Sincerely a Houstonian.”
  • “Please DO NOT come here for Spring Break! We don’t want the ghetto behavior polluting the city!”
  • “Aht Aht!! We already have bad traffic 😩 and everything close at 2am 🙅🏽‍♀️ Do NOT come here 🤦🏽‍♀️”

What are some things out-of-towners could do in Houston during Spring Break?
