HOUSTON – Officials are responding to the scene of a major crash after an 18-wheeler hydroplaned into pillars on I-10 East.

The crash happened southbound at 11500 Eastex Freeway around 11 a.m. amid heavy storms Thursday morning.

According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the 18-wheeler hydroplaned, drove into the pillars, and onto the Houston METRO HOV lanes.

CURRENT TRAFFIC CONDITIONS HERE

As of 11:15 a.m. Thursday, crews were still at the scene, assisting with cleanup. A heavy-duty wrecker is en route as well as a Hazmat crew to assist with the diesel spill.

At this time, no injuries have been reported.
