H&R Block resolves issue that briefly prevented desktop software users from e-filing tax returns

HOUSTON – If you were experiencing issues e-filing your tax return Monday, H&R Block said it has since resolved the issue and things should be working properly.

Monday morning, H&R Block confirmed that some of its desktop software users were having issues, which prevented them from e-filing their tax returns.

Tax professionals working virtually or in person were not impacted.

Many desktop software users posted on “x” saying their credit cards were charged multiple times during the glitch.

Customers paying an e-filing fee by credit card may see a temporary authorization hold for the amount of the fee, the company stated. The holds will expire, and customers will not be charged. It usually takes three to five business days for holds to expire depending on your bank.

H&R Block released the following statement:

We are aware of an issue preventing some desktop software users from e-filing their returns. Online clients and clients working with our tax professionals virtually or in person are not impacted.
