Man calls 911 on himself says he shot wife to death in east Houston, motive unknown

CONROE, Texas – Authorities in east Houston are trying to piece together what led a man to shoot his wife to death late Saturday night.

It happened a little before 10 p.m. when officers with the Houston Police Department said they received a call from an unidentified man who said he shot his wife at their home on Tuffy St. near Grangerland.

Responding officers said they found an unidentified man lying on the home’s stairwell with a gun next to him and was placed in handcuffs without incident.

Shortly afterward, detectives found his unidentified wife. We’re told she is in her late 40s and was shot in the face or the “head area.”

It’s unclear what led up to the shooting, as of this writing, but police said the man will be facing murder charges and an investigation into the deadly incident remains underway.
