Students in Houston Independent School District have class Monday morning despite error

The TEA announced its intention to take over the Houston Independent School District as of June 1st. (KPRC)

HOUSTON – Good morning, Houston students.

Despite an error on the academic calendar for 2023-2024, the Houston Independent School District posted a correction Sunday afternoon.

Annually, this school week would have a Monday off. However, this year, district officials made the decision to hold classes.

Instead, Oct. 13 will be a professional development day for staff and students will not have class.
