How COVID-19 helped create a national surrogacy shortage

The COVID-19 pandemic created a labor shortage across the country, and the field of surrogacy is no exception. A recent article by the New York Times reported a 60 percent drop in potential surrogates since 2020.

Families facing infertility issues or other health problems, same-sex couples, and single people often rely on surrogates to make parenthood possible.

That’s why Jeff Hu founded SurrogateFirst after struggling for nearly a decade to start his own family.
