On Sept. 1 at 2 p.m., police were called to the Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in regard to a child being brought into the emergency room by his father and was unresponsive, according to the police department.

According to the social media posting, investigators confronted Parrot after they found his story to be inconsistent with what happened to the child. He allegedly admitted to intentionally leaving his son in the car for five hours, with an outside temperature of 87 degrees. Police said Parrott told them that he left his son in the vehicle so the child wouldn’t be a disturbance in the home.

Chief Michael Goodwin said via the Facebook posting that the child’s mother was working at the time of the incident.

Parrot currently is being held in the Tuscarawas County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
