KPRC 2 honors heroes in the medical field with special coverage

For the second year in a row, KPRC 2 paid tribute to the hard-working heroes in our medical community.

We recognized some of our “May Heroes,” with our HITCH mobile stage live from the Texas Medical Center on Wednesday, May 18.

Spina Bifida surgery success!

A Spina Bifida diagnosis used to mean that children could be confined to a wheelchair for life, often with shorter life expectancies. A breakthrough came in 2011 with fetoscopic surgery, a procedure performed with the baby still in their mother’s uterus. Just a few years later, more innovation: doctors at Texas Children’s Hospital created a method of fetoscopic surgery with remarkable outcomes for babies and their moms.
