Former League City basketball coach arrested, charged with indecent assault, police say

LEAGUE CITY, Texas – A former League City boy’s basketball coach has been arrested and charged with indecent assault, according to authorities.

League City Police said 59-year-old Timothy Lyndon Sharer allegedly touched someone inappropriately in the genital area at his home on Aug. 23, 2021.

Sharer reportedly developed a relationship with the victim when he was the basketball coach at Bay Area Christian School.

The Galveston County District Attorney’s Office said Sharer turned himself in on Dec. 6.

Sharer is currently in the Galveston County Jail on a $2,500 bond.
