Officer’s patrol car flips after being hit by red-light runner; search for driver underway: HPD

HOUSTON – A Houston police officer is recovering after a major crash in downtown Houston Monday.

Investigators said his patrol car was t-boned by another driver who ran a red light on Gray and Hamilton around 1 a.m. The patrol car flipped and ended up on its roof, police said.

Police said the officer was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Investigators said the other driver ran away from the scene and remains on the loose.
