HOUSTON – An elementary teacher charged with indecency with a child made a court appearance Monday.
Roman Zalasar worked at Tijerina Elementary School in the Houston Independent School District. After allegations arose, Zalasar was removed from the classroom and assigned to an off-campus location back in December.

We reached out to Houston ISD and received a statement which read in part: "At HISD the safety of all the students is top priority. The district takes these charges very seriously and will continue to work closely with law enforcement agencies."
Zalasar, 54, is set to make another court appearance in March.
