Annual Uptown Houston Holiday Lighting event postponed until 2019

HOUSTON – The Uptown Houston Lighting fireworks event is postponed until 2019 due to construction on Post Oak Boulevard.

The annual event held on Thanksgiving will be postponed until Post Oak Boulevard is rebuilt into Grand Boulevard, officials said.

“We have an opportunity to create an even more spectacular event and in incredible destination boulevard for the holidays,” said John Breeding, president of Uptown Houston District. “Many of the new elements on the boulevard will become future holiday decorations.”
